In 2006 it was time for my son to move into a “BIG BOY BED,” so I decided to make a sports themed bed for him. Using my Dad’s wood shop I figured out how to cut a headboard, side rails, foot rail and bed slats. I painted the bed myself including the football, baseball, basketball, and soccer ball artwork on the head board.

Admittedly, everything about this project was a bit rough but making the bed frame gave me inspiration to create a few more items. I next made an All-Sports Hanger for my son soon followed by a hanger and a shelf of each sport; football, basketball, baseball, and soccer. Just for fun I also re-painted a coffee table for a buddy of mine.

At this point I started showing these original products to friends and family. Their responses were very positive and some even suggested that I try selling my products at Arts and Crafts Shows. In the fall of 2007 I started selling at shows where I was able to test market products and acquire customer feedback. Overwhelmingly, customer response was encouraging as people “Oohed and Aahed” and made statements like “Wow, this is so cool.”

As sales and momentum grew so did my VISION for the products and thus was born EDWARDS SPORTS FURNITURE. In 2008 Edwards Sports Furniture began using digitally printed images for artwork and entered into licensing agreements with the Spokane Chiefs and the Tri-Cities Americans to go along with the Hoopfest license garnered in 2007. In 2009 I acquired licensing rights to the Gonzaga University, Washington State University and the University of Washington. In 2011, Edwards Sports Furniture unveiled this new website featuring the fun, easy to use PRODUCT CUSTOMIZER.

Over the years I have sold thousands of sports furniture products and sports plaques to Individual Customers across the United States as well as to Youth Sports Organizations, Youth Sports teams, High Schools and Professional Sports Teams. I am thrilled to report that I have never had an item returned and I have many repeat customers.
